Commenting ahead of campaigners seeking a Public Inquiry into fatal outbreaks of Clostridium Difficile appear before Holyrood's Public Petitions Committee, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie said:

"Liberal Democrats have consistently supported these families and their campaign for an immediate Public Inquiry into C. Difficile.

"It has been more than three months since the Parliament first called for a Public Inquiry into the C. Diff outbreaks at Vale of Leven.

"The existence of a police investigation is not an excuse for the Health Secretary's failure to set up a full Public Inquiry."
